MWCURC Mission

The MWCURC is a proactive membership group leading the efforts to improve the business and community environment and the physical surroundings of the Mt. Washington Neighborhood Business District and other commercial nodes consistent with the 2007 Mt. Washington Comprehensive Plan

MWCURC Purpose

The purpose of the group is to create a thriving, vibrant, and appealing community to live, socialize and do business (in), and in so doing, enhance the vitality of Mt. Washington.

What We Do:

In the short term -

  • We improve the look of the business district. We recently competed for and won capital funding from the City of Cincinnati to finish our appealing Streetscape. You can look forward to a lighted welcome sign to the business district, welcome signs at other entrances, new, attractive banners, masonry and landscaping, more benches, planters, and trash/recycling containers.
  • We sponsor events to promote the business district such as the annual Holiday Festival which brings hundreds of people into the neighborhood during the peak shopping season.
  • We attract businesses which will add to the appeal of the business district. We are collaborating with the city and a marketing consultant to turn our vacant lots into businesses that fit and make sense.
  • We are the voice of the Mt Washington business district at City Hall. Whether it’s zoning, public policy or problem solving, the MWCURC speaks out for our business community.

What We Plan To Do:

Long term –

  • Our eyes are on the future and we’re on the move. Quality schools, good housing value, ample green space, great recreational opportunities and an ever more interesting businesses district uniquely position our eastside neighborhood for exciting, smart growth. We’ve just partnered with the City and the Mt Washington Community Council to complete the 2007 Mt Washington
